Energize Corvallis is hosting citywide Creation Care Workshop on Tuesday, June 12 at 5:30. One to three representatives from each faith community are invited to attend. We will discuss how environmental stewardship and faith complement one another and provide opportunities for community service. Dinner will be provided.
Register for the Creation Care Workshop online or call Carly at 541-758-6749.
During the Creation Care Workshop we will:
- Hear from representatives from faith organizations that have successfully paired environmental stewardship with spirituality and service.
- Discuss how to build on their experiences and knowledge.
- Provide a step-by-step guide to the Communities Take Charge program—a fun and easy way for your faith community to save energy and help the environment.
- Provide an overview of energy efficiency programs in Corvallis, including classes, funding opportunities for homeowners, assistance for low-income residents, and services for business owners.
After the Creation Care Workshop we will:
- Collaborate with you to start the Communities Take Charge program in your faith community based on your interests, schedule, and goals.
- Provide the support and materials you need to make your service project a success, including text for newsletters, flyers, posters, and staff time.
- Host quarterly celebrations for the Creation Care team when we’ll come together, share our successes, keep up-to-date on energy efficiency happenings, strategize, and eat good food.
