Have A few hours a month?

The following volunteer positions for the Energy Advocate program are currently open:

  • Donation Superstar: Organizing food and drink donations for monthly  Energy Advocate meetings including asking for donations at local restaurants and grocery stores, picking up donations, bringing the food to the meetings, and sending thank you letters to donors. (2-3 hours per month)
  • Mastermind of Residential Correspondence: Follow up with residents who register for Energy Advocate assistance by sending them a “Welcome to the Program” letter, and follow up with residents who complete the program by sending them an evaluation form and a thank you letter. Knowledge of Excel would be helpful by not required. (3-5 hours per month)
  • Planner Extraordinaire: Work with the Energy Advocate planning team to identify, invite, and schedule guest speakers for the monthly gathering. Planning might also include orchestrating movie nights, reading groups, and an annual gathering. (3-5 hours per month)
  • Mastermind of Energy Advocate Correspondence: Use our Excel database to pair Energy Advocate volunteers with residents and manage correspondence. Knowledge of Excel would be really helpful but not required. (3-5 hours per month, and probably less than that after the first few months)
  • Videographer: Record the Energy Advocate trainings and post them on the website for people who miss a meeting. You don’t need editing skills for this job, but it would be great if you had your own equipment to use. (25 hours of filming during the initial class, then 3-4 hours per month for the monthly gatherings).
  • Website Manager: Update the notes, photos, and FAQs on the Energy Advocates pages of EnergizeCorvallis.org. We are currently using WordPress and would be happy to teach you how to use it. (1-2 hours of WordPress training, then 1-2 hours per month)
