Adin Ross Calls for Trilogy Following Gabriel Silva’s Close Decision Win Over OJ Rose

Boxing news

Gabriel Silva, son of the legendary MMA fighter Anderson Silva, recently continued his boxing journey by securing a narrow decision victory against TikTok personality OJ Rose on Friday night.

This bout marked a rematch between the two; the younger Silva had previously defeated Rose in a Misfits Boxing fight back in November 2023. After their initial encounter, Rose maintained that he had done enough to earn the win. Both fighters seemed open to a rematch, but Silva`s path next led him to challenge Anthony Taylor for a light-heavyweight title.

Since that time, Silva has been competing under Adin Ross’s Brand Risk Promotions banner. Earlier this year, he delivered a highlight-reel knockout against `USA Saiyan` Brendan Kelly. With his recent win over Rose, two years after their first meeting, he effectively put a stamp on their rivalry and extended his winning run.

Adin Ross Demands Trilogy After Tight Rematch Victory

Years on from their first meeting under the Misfits banner, Gabriel Silva and OJ Rose faced off again at a Brand Risk Promotions event held in Miami on Friday night. The more experienced Silva looked sharp and dangerous early in the fight, showcasing his polished boxing skills and landing strikes effectively.

However, Rose managed to find his rhythm and work his way back into the contest, particularly during the third round, despite some potentially uninsightful commentary from the broadcast team, which included streamers xQc and N3on alongside boxing champion Rolly Romero.

With only about 30 seconds remaining in the fight, just as it appeared Rose might have mounted enough offense in his late push to potentially secure a draw, Silva ignited once more. He landed a flush uppercut while in the clinch, which visibly staggered Rose. This late strike likely proved decisive, potentially swinging the round and ultimately the fight in Silva`s favor.

Following the announcement of Silva`s decision victory, promoter Adin Ross expressed his enthusiasm for the fight he had just witnessed. He immediately called for the pair to “run it back,” referring to it as a `rematch,` although it would technically be their third meeting, making it a trilogy bout. Ross indicated his plan to schedule the trilogy fight for the promotion`s very next event, which is scheduled to take place on the road in Nashville.

An Overview of Gabriel Silva`s Path in Influencer Boxing

Since choosing to pursue a career in celebrity boxing, Gabriel Silva has experienced a mixed bag of results. Transitioning from a successful kickboxing background, he made a significant Misfits Boxing debut in September 2023, where he delivered a brutal stoppage of commentator Ben Davis.

His following fight proved to be a tougher challenge, as he narrowly defeated OJ Rose at York Hall. That close win earned him a shot at Anthony Taylor. A planned fight against Taylor in Nashville the following March was cancelled due to issues during weight negotiations.

Silva and Taylor eventually met in August in Dublin, where Taylor secured a decisive knockout victory within three rounds following a heated build-up to the fight. Silva successfully got back on track earlier this year in the Brand Risk ring by stopping Brendan Kelly in the second round, which set the stage for his recent rematch win over Rose.
