Alcaraz Explains How He Used Musetti’s Nervousness in Rome

Sport news

Spain`s Carlos Alcaraz shared his thoughts after reaching the final of the Rome Masters tournament. In the semi-final match, he defeated Italian Lorenzo Musetti with a score of 6/3, 7/6(4).

According to Alcaraz, Musetti`s nervousness was due to playing at home.

“Musetti has been in similar situations before, it`s his third consecutive Masters semi-final. Playing at home is definitely tough, especially when you really want to win and reach the final in front of your fans. These thoughts can create pressure,” Alcaraz stated after the match.

He continued: “He made many mistakes at the start of the match and seemed very tense. I noticed that and tried to take advantage of it, capitalizing on his errors. I tried to play smart and solid, which helped me win the first set.”
