Alexander Kalivod on Russian Tennis Future: No Successors to Leaders Yet, Juniors Promising but Need Time

Sport news

Honored Coach of the Russian Federation and well-known commentator Alexander Kalivod shared his perspective on the future of Russian men`s tennis, suggesting that there is currently a lack of players ready to step up and perform at the elite level set by Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Karen Khachanov.

Kalivod commented, “Currently, we don`t see anyone who could play at the level of our leaders. Roman Safiullin is showing inconsistent performance, Pavel Kotov has certain weight issues hindering his high results. Among the juniors, there are some good players, but it`s too early to talk about them. Unfortunately, it`s difficult to observe how many of these young players train and manage their lives right now.”
