German tennis star Alexander Zverev, currently ranked second in the world, has identified four players who are setting the standard in men`s tennis today, including himself in this distinguished group.
Zverev stated, “There are four of us operating at a very similar high level. Last season was marked by some inconsistency. My own performance in the latter half of the year wasn`t ideal, and Alcaraz experienced both peaks and dips, while Sinner showed remarkable consistency. Nevertheless, I consider myself, along with Djokovic, to be at the forefront. Re-establishing balance in the fight for the top spot is definitely achievable.”
He added, “It`s great to see fresh faces emerging, but right now, there are four players delivering exceptional tennis: Sinner, myself holding the world No. 2 ranking, Alcaraz, and Novak. The competition among us is intense.”
Zverev concluded, “I`m confident that in 2025, we will continue to be the central figures, and the season will be more consistent than the last few. It would be shortsighted to judge based solely on 2024, as many unexpected things have happened. I feel refreshed and ready for new accomplishments.”
