Alexander Zverev: ‘I Lose Many Matches Where I Lead. I Must Change This’

Sport news

World No. 2 Alexander Zverev has spoken out about his defeat to Arthur Fils in the fourth round of the Miami Masters (6-3, 3-6, 4-6).

“Lately, I’ve been losing a lot of matches where I feel like I’m not in control of the situation. Today was similar, so I need to focus on myself more than anything else.”

“I think I played much better in Miami than in recent weeks, for sure. But I was up a break in the third set… There’s no reason to lose a match like that. I just gave away four games in a row. In Indian Wells, I was serving for the match, in Rio I was up 4-1 in the third, in Buenos Aires I was up a set and a break. I lose a lot of matches where I`m leading. I have to change that,” Zverev said at the press conference.
