Alexander Zverev – On Confidence: I Need Wins and Good Tennis

Sport news

World No. 2 German tennis player Alexander Zverev has stated that winning several matches is crucial for him to regain confidence on the court.

“Winning matches is key to building confidence and getting into the right frame of mind. I definitely need to win a few matches and demonstrate strong tennis. Momentum can shift rapidly. In Miami, I felt an improvement in my game, but a neck injury hampered me, which was unfortunate and restricted my play. However, even just one win can quickly change things,” Zverev explained.

He added, “In the quarter-finals, I potentially would have faced Jakub Mensik, who recently won a tournament. If I can regain my confidence, I believe I could be the favorite in such matches. Things can change quickly, and I hope this positive shift happens in the coming weeks,” Zverev’s words were reported by the official ATP website.

At the Miami Masters, Zverev was defeated in the fourth round by Arthur Fils with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 4-6.
