Former world No. 11, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, shared details about her current team of specialists.
– I remember we talked after your successful Roland Garros 2023, and you had a purely French coaching team. Then you worked with three Italians. Has anything changed now?
– Yes, a lot has changed. Unfortunately, not all coaches can travel with a player constantly. Some, to put it mildly, are not entirely competent.
– Could you name the specialists you are currently working with? If it`s not a secret.
– It`s not a secret. Currently, my sparring partner is Yannick Mertens from Belgium. He played in the Tour for many years and was in the Top 200. I am also helped by another Belgian, Jos Grevig. He previously worked with Tsitsipas, helping him develop his one-handed backhand. He was with me from Cincinnati to the US Open, plus he spent the entire pre-season, but after Adelaide, he flew home. We also work with a German, Fabian Donsbach. He stays more behind the scenes: he does analysis, creates my training program. So, I accidentally ended up with a Belgian-German team, – Pavlyuchenkova said in an interview.
