Anastasia Potapova Reacts to Power Outage in Madrid

Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova shared her experience regarding the widespread power outage that hit Madrid, Spain.

“The electricity hasn`t been restored anywhere; only some buildings have generators. We are still in the dark,” the world No. 39 stated via social media.

Madrid, along with a significant portion of the Iberian Peninsula, faced considerable issues with its power supply. At the ongoing tennis tournament, the outage rendered the electronic line-calling and scorekeeping systems inoperable. As a result, tournament organizers announced that all scheduled matches in Madrid were rescheduled for the following day.

Anastasia Potapova has successfully advanced to the fourth round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, where she is set to compete against Ukrainian player Marta Kostyuk.
