Today is the 24th birthday of Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova. We extend our congratulations to Anastasia and wish her continued success both on the court and in her personal life.
Anastasia Potapova was born on March 30, 2001, in Saratov. Her parents are Sergey and Julia. She began playing tennis at the age of five and has been training at the Alexander Ostrovsky Academy since 2013.
In the 2016 season, Anastasia achieved significant success as a junior, winning the junior Wimbledon title and becoming the world`s top-ranked junior player. She also reached the finals of the junior US Open in 2015, as well as the junior Roland Garros in both 2016 and 2017.
To date, Anastasia has won three WTA singles titles. She triumphed in Istanbul in 2022, Linz in 2023, and Cluj-Napoca in 2025. Her career prize money totals $4,584,158.
In June 2023, Potapova reached her highest WTA ranking of world No. 21. She is currently ranked as the world No. 38.
In her personal life, Anastasia married Alexander Shevchenko in December 2023, but they later divorced in November 2024.
