Sport news

Andrey Rublev, currently ranked world number eight, shared his thoughts on the upcoming defense of his champion title at the Madrid Masters tournament. The Russian tennis player offered a realistic assessment of his prospects, noting that he doesn`t consider himself a favorite.

“I have never managed to win a tournament again after winning it previously,” Rublev stated. “Therefore, I believe my chances of success are slim. It often happens that after winning a specific tournament, I am eliminated in the first round the following season.”

Regarding his current physical condition, Rublev commented, “As for my state, I feel good. We`ll see how the game unfolds.”
