World number one Aryna Sabalenka has shared her thoughts on the withdrawal of her friend, Paula Badosa, from the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid. Badosa was forced to pull out of the event due to back problems.
Sabalenka expressed her sympathy for Badosa`s situation. “I feel really sorry for her that she couldn`t play in front of her home fans,” Sabalenka stated. She added, “I wish her to recover as quickly as possible. Taking a break and preparing calmly for the next part of the season is the correct decision.”
“I hope she will be ready 100% very soon,” Sabalenka concluded.
