World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, after her victory over Jessica Pegula in the Miami Open final (7-5, 6-2) on Saturday, became the fourth female tennis player since 2000 to win this tournament while holding the WTA`s top ranking.
Previously, this achievement was reached by Martina Hingis (2000), Serena Williams (2003, 2013-15), and Ashleigh Barty (2021).
It`s worth noting that in the current season, Sabalenka has spent 40 hours and 6 minutes on court, making her the leader on the WTA tour in this statistic, ahead of Mirra Andreeva.
