The exact time the video was recorded is unknown.

In the unusual footage, fans could be seen running behind Palmer.

The 22-year-old featured in today`s 1-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge.

However, it remains unclear exactly when the video was filmed.

Nonetheless, supporters expressed confusion about his presence in the video near the club`s stadium.

Reacting on social media, one fan commented: “`What`s happening?`”

A second said: “`A new meme template just dropped.`”

A third added: “`Haha! Did the team bus leave without him?`”

Another asked: “`What is he doing?`”

Palmer`s recent dip in form continued during the match against Everton, where he received a very low rating for his performance.

Nicolas Jackson`s goal secured the win for Chelsea, but Palmer`s performance was notably below his usual high standards.

Cole Palmer`s goal drought now stands at 17 matches.

Today`s game extended Palmer`s current goal drought to 17 matches, while Nicolas Jackson`s goal ended his own run of 13 games without scoring.

Before the match, manager Enzo Maresca commented that the England international`s issue was “mental,” not tactical.

He stated: “`It`s definitely a mental issue, not tactical or technical.`”

“`Cole is still the player who scored 14 goals in 20 games. The style hasn`t changed, the manager is the same, the club is the same. Nothing around Cole has changed. It`s just a mental challenge at this moment.`”

“`You can see he`s a bit worried because he wants to help the team. He seems to be struggling with that aspect.`”

“`But he showed how happy he was after the Fulham match. It`s simply a matter of us winning games. I`m sure he will score again.`”

“`If you look back game by game, he had at least one or two chances in every match, so it`s not down to how the team is playing.`”

The early win temporarily moved Chelsea up to fourth place in the Premier League standings, although Newcastle`s 3-0 victory over Ipswich later saw them drop back down to fifth.
