Chelsea currently have a £25 million obligation to purchase Sancho this summer, four years after Manchester United originally signed him for £73 million in 2021.
Nevertheless, there is a clause allowing them to withdraw from the agreement for a penalty fee of £5 million.
According to Sky Sports News, the London club is now in discussions with the winger`s representatives regarding his future.
It appears Chelsea is keen on retaining Sancho in West London.
However, Sky reports that any permanent signing is contingent on Sancho accepting terms that align with the club`s salary structure.
Sancho reportedly commands a significant weekly wage of £350,000 at Manchester United, where his current contract has one year remaining.
The Todd Boehly ownership model involves recruiting players on comparatively modest wages.
For instance, key player Cole Palmer earns £130,000 per week.
Other players like Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Noni Madueke, Malo Gusto, and Romeo Lavia are all reported to earn £65,000 per week or less.
Under manager Enzo Maresca, Sancho competed for a starting wing position with players such as Madueke and Pedro Neto.

He recorded five goals and ten assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.
His three Premier League goals were scored against Southampton, Tottenham, and Ipswich.
Crucially, he scored a decisive goal in the Conference League final, coming off the bench to curl in a shot that made it 3-1 against Real Betis, effectively sealing the game before celebrating with a blue phone.
If Sancho declines the proposed wage reduction and a move to Chelsea falls through, he might explore other transfer possibilities, especially if Manchester United, who are reportedly open to selling their entire squad, seek to offload him.
Bayer Leverkusen could potentially be interested in signing him as a replacement for Florian Wirtz, who is expected to join Liverpool.
Additionally, his former club, Borussia Dortmund, might consider bringing the winger back to strengthen their attack.
