World No. 2 Coco Gauff shared insights into her preparation and mindset regarding her aspirations at Roland Garros. The American posted a photo on social media showing a paper where she had written “I will win the tournament” eight times.

Gauff captioned the post, stating, “Don`t mind the handwriting, but I saw [athlete] Gabrielle Thomas do this. Couldn`t help but do the same, lol.”

In a subsequent story, Gauff shared a screenshot of a note from her phone. The note, dated June 8, 2021, read: “Yesterday I dreamed that I will win `Roland Garros`. I don`t know if that`s how it is and if it will happen this year, but that`s how I dreamed it.” At the time this note was written, Gauff was 17 years old and ranked outside the Top 20. That year, she reached the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Commenting on the older note, Gauff added, “Look at the date. If you can imagine it, you can do it.”
