Conor McGregor’s Future with UFC Uncertain

MMA news

Conor McGregor has raised questions about his future in the UFC, even though he still has two fights left on his current contract.

McGregor, 36, has not fought in the octagon since July 2021. In that fight, he suffered a broken leg during a match against Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas.

He was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in a welterweight match last June, but he had to withdraw due to a toe injury.

Since then, McGregor has seemed less interested in returning to the UFC, focusing more on politics instead.

McGregor visited US President Donald Trump at the White House earlier this month. Following this visit, he announced his intention to run for president of Ireland.

He now seems determined to dedicate his energy to his political ambitions in Ireland rather than continuing his MMA career.

When asked about his UFC return this week, McGregor stated that he has two fights remaining on his contract and is in negotiations.

He also mentioned a recent visit to the White House that deeply affected him, stating his concern for Ireland. He expressed satisfaction with his career achievements but indicated a strong pull towards something else, suggesting his focus is now on Ireland.

Former MMA fighter Daniel Cormier believes that McGregor`s MMA career is finished.

Cormier commented on McGregor`s White House visit and political aspirations, expressing disbelief and suggesting that McGregor is now a politician and his fighting career is likely over.
