Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that Dana White remains the main promoter for the major boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, following earlier suggestions of a disagreement.
Earlier this year, UFC CEO Dana White announced plans with Alalshikh to launch TKO Boxing, with the proposed first event being a significant bout between undisputed champions Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.
Fan concern arose when Alalshikh later stated that the Saudi company SELA would promote the fight, without mentioning White, contrary to expectations of the MMA leader`s involvement in boxing. It now appears they have resolved any issues and plan a significant announcement for tomorrow.
Turki Alalshikh insists Dana White is still promoting Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford
At the UFC 316 press conference last night, Dana White addressed media questions, including those from Bloody Elbow, confirming his positive relationship with Turki Alalshikh and their ongoing plans to collaborate on the Canelo-Crawford fight.

Alalshikh shared a video clip of these media interactions, adding a caption that read: “My brother Dana will promote this fight.
He continued, stating: “It is the fight of Riyadh Season, and we have a deal with TKO to promote it, and it will be the biggest fight in boxing. Tomorrow, I believe Dana and I will share the details, including the platform and location for this match.”
Dana White can’t remember when he last spoke to Turki Alalshikh
Despite positive statements on social media, it seems White and Alalshikh haven`t communicated extensively recently. When Bloody Elbow asked White about their last conversation, he admitted he couldn`t precisely remember the timeframe.
Regarding any potential conflict after Alalshikh`s tweets, White commented: “I don’t really know [what happened]. Listen, when I’m working at UFC headquarters, I’m in my own world. I don’t pay attention to any of that stuff.”
He added: “I know what’s happening, I know what we’re doing. That stuff doesn’t matter to me… Honestly, I don’t even recall the last time I spoke with him, but we’re good. We’re very good.”
