Deontay Wilder has confirmed that discussions are still taking place regarding potential fights against Francis Ngannou, encompassing both boxing and MMA bouts.
While preparing for his upcoming return to the ring, Wilder expressed strong interest in facing Ngannou next, provided he emerges from his scheduled fight unharmed.
Deontay Wilder is Willing to Fight Francis Ngannou in MMA
A potential clash between two of combat sports` most powerful punchers is a thrilling prospect, as a single strike from either man could end the fight. Demonstrating his warrior spirit, Wilder stated his willingness to compete not only in boxing but also to step into Ngannou`s world, the MMA cage, wearing the smaller four-ounce gloves.
In a recent interview, Wilder elaborated on the situation:
“I`d love to fight Ngannou. There are a lot of things going on, I think that fight is still stirring up. We`re still talking about it. It`s just trying to get the structure of how that fight is gonna go. Certain things have been laid out, I have even expressed my opinions about doing one fight in boxing and one fight in MMA, I would love to go back-and-forth, and give him the opportunity for me to go in his backyard as he has come into mine — fair is fair. There are a lot of things going on right now, but I think that fight will be made. A lot of fights will be made, it`s all gonna depend on me. I have returned with a great mindset. I`m free of injuries. I was dealing with an injury for the past four years, to the point where I was in pain every day, every time I used the arm, but I couldn’t stop. I’m a warrior.”
Deontay Wilder Slams Jarrell Miller
While a fight with Ngannou remains a key target, Wilder also has another opponent he is eager to face: Jarrell Miller.
The former heavyweight champion has had a long-standing rivalry with Miller, who has consistently tried to provoke him.
Wilder did not mince words regarding “Big Baby” Miller, indicating significant animosity.
