Russian tennis player Diana Shnaider shared her thoughts following her decisive victory against Latvia`s Anastasia Sevastova in the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament held in Madrid, Spain. Shnaider secured the win with a dominant scoreline of 6-0, 6-0.
When asked if her opponent presented any surprises, Shnaider responded: “Honestly, no. However, I was aware that she had already defeated Nastia Pavlyuchenkova and Alena Ostapenko here. With that in mind, my understanding was that I simply needed to maintain focus, minimize my own mistakes, and make her move around the court. Therefore, yes, one of the main aspects for me today was precisely that – not making many unforced errors myself and forcing her to move.”
