Eddie Hall Eyes “Freak Fights” After Dominant MMA Debut Win

MMA news

Following his impressive professional mixed martial arts (MMA) debut victory, Eddie Hall is now looking towards more unconventional “freak show” fights.

Known as ‘The Beast’, Hall faced off against five-time World`s Strongest Man champion Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 in Gliwice, Poland, on Saturday.

Hall quickly defeated Pudzianowski, securing a dominant victory in just 30 seconds and starting his MMA career with a 1-0 record.

MMA enthusiasts globally are now speculating on how Hall would perform against more challenging opponents.

However, the British strongman stated he does not plan to pursue a serious career as a heavyweight MMA fighter.

Regarding his future plans, Hall commented: “Maybe Mariusz will do the rematch with two-minute rounds. I’ve got no aspirations to be number one in KSW. That’s just not for me. I want to come and have fun. I want to fight my heroes. I want to fight the freaks of the world.”

Hall`s victory came after he defended a takedown attempt, subsequently getting Pudzianowski to the ground and finishing the fight with a brutal series of hammer fists.

The swift conclusion to the fight left him feeling somewhat less challenged than he expected.

He commented, “I expected it to go eight minutes [the bout was set for two rounds of four minutes]. I’ve done so much work on the ground wrestling on the floor, kicking, so I was expecting a lot more out of it. But don’t get me wrong, I am super happy to take that win. The 30 seconds of madness? I’m happy with that and I’ll take that. I have got the hardest recorded punch on the planet and if that lands on your face, I don’t know who you are but you’re going down.”

Hall has previously stated he is not interested in a rematch with Thor Bjornsson, who defeated him in a boxing match three years prior.

He also mentioned the possibility of a bout against former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Hall, who is from Stoke, admitted that fighting UFC legend Conor McGregor would be a “comical” matchup.

Expanding on the idea of fighting McGregor, Hall said he would love the matchup, but noted the significant weight difference would make it “absolutely comical” and dangerous “on Conor’s behalf,” highlighting the purpose of weight classes in combat sports.
