World number 57, Joao Fonseca, shared his impressions after watching the Roland Garros 2025 final between Spain`s Carlos Alcaraz and Italy`s Jannik Sinner.
“I really enjoy watching them,” Fonseca said. “I watched the final – it was incredible tennis. What these two are doing is great for the sport. It`s fascinating for me to see how they play, how they handle crucial moments. I was discussing this with my family; watching is challenging because they notice different aspects than typical spectators. Usually, you focus on their demeanor during rallies – whether they are positive or not. These are details you don`t necessarily pick up when you`re playing against them. But on television, you gain more insight. It`s beneficial. I talked about this with my coach last week. These two are a blessing for tennis. I hope to have the chance to play against them in the future.”
At Roland Garros 2025, the 18-year-old Joao Fonseca reached the third round of the tournament, where he was defeated by Britain`s Jack Draper with a score of 2/6, 4/6, 2/6.
