‘Fair play’… Jake Paul Gives Dana White Rare Compliment Ahead of Canelo vs Terence Crawford

Boxing news

Dana White`s anticipated move into boxing seems to be gaining significant momentum.

Earlier this month, it was announced that TKO Boxing would launch with a major fight: Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, initially planned for September 12 at Las Vegas` Allegiant Stadium.

However, recent updates have cast doubt on these plans, as the potential Alvarez vs. Crawford fight now clashes with UFC 320, scheduled for September 13.

Adding to the uncertainty, Turki Alalshikh mentioned that the event would be a Riyadh Season pay-per-view, with potential locations including New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.

Despite the ongoing questions about the fight`s specifics, Dana White`s involvement has surprisingly earned praise from Jake `The Problem Child` Paul, especially considering their past public disagreements.

Jake Paul Praises Dana White for Promoting Canelo vs. Crawford Without Funding

In a social media post, Jake Paul acknowledged Dana White`s move, suggesting White has positioned himself to promote a major fight without personally funding it.

The UFC president had previously stated that his team would manage all aspects of the Canelo-Crawford fight, mirroring their approach to UFC events.

This undertaking became significantly more challenging when the fight`s date shifted, potentially placing it on the same night as Noche UFC, the organization`s return event in Mexico.

This scenario could result in one of the most crucial weekends of White`s career, potentially seeing him promote two massive combat sports events concurrently.

`The Problem Child` posted on X (formerly Twitter) that, as a fellow promoter, he felt compelled to acknowledge White`s recent actions in boxing, noting that White is diving straight into a major challenge.

“Dana White is the promoter for Canelo Crawford & he doesn’t have to put up 1 $. Fair play Dana. Fair play.”

What`s Next for Jake Paul?

According to reports, following his win over Mike Tyson last November, Jake Paul is scheduled to return to the ring on June 28 to face the son of a boxing legend.

His opponent, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., boasts considerable professional experience with 62 fights, including bouts against notable fighters like Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs. He is a former WBC middleweight champion.

At 39, Chavez Jr.`s recent career includes fights against former MMA stars such as Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall. He was also scheduled to fight Darren Till on the undercard of the originally planned Paul vs. Tyson bout before it was postponed.

Their upcoming fight is set for June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

The event card will also feature former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm returning to boxing to face Yolanda Vega.
