Football Icon Roy Keane Praised for Heartwarming Hospital Visit

Football legend Roy Keane is being celebrated as a true gentleman after he made a special visit to a devoted fan battling dementia in the hospital.

The Manchester United icon graciously agreed to meet 77-year-old Pat O’Sullivan, who is unwell, following a heartfelt appeal from his family on local radio.

Pat, who considers Roy an “absolute legend,” was deeply moved and shed tears during their emotional meeting.

Keane, aged 53 and originally from Cork, spent a meaningful 35 minutes at Mercy hospital in Cork with Pat, his loving wife Catherine, and their sons Derek, 44, and Rob, 41.

Rob expressed his gratitude, saying: “It was incredibly kind of Roy to do this.”

“My dad was absolutely overjoyed.”

Growing up near Pat`s family in Cork, Keane has a history with the family, even sharing a pint with Pat at the Temple Acre pub in the past.

Rob recounted, “My dad always fondly speaks of his friend Roy Keane.”

“Meeting him again made him so happy, he cried twice.”

“Roy was so warm and engaging, putting his arm around him and sharing jokes. My dad truly cherished the moment.”
