Goran Ivanisevic on Elena Rybakina: Off-Court Issues Led to Coaching Exit

Sport news

2001 Wimbledon champion, Croatian Goran Ivanisevic, has spoken about his time coaching Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina. Ivanisevic coached Rybakina from late 2024 to January 2025.

“It was a somewhat strange situation. I won`t elaborate much, but it`s a rather sad and peculiar story. Even before I became her coach, I considered her the best female tennis player globally. She has a beautiful and uncomplicated playing style, which I admired.”

“Unfortunately, there were some off-court circumstances that were beyond my control, and I didn`t want to be involved in them. Consequently, I concluded that leaving was the best course of action. I wish her all the best in her future career,” Ivanisevic said in a quote to Talking Tennis.
