Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, and Dean Henderson, goalkeeper for Crystal Palace, were involved in a heated exchange on the pitch following Crystal Palace`s surprising triumph over Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

The incident occurred moments after Eberechi Eze`s goal in the 16th minute secured Crystal Palace their first-ever major trophy in a dramatic match played at Wembley.

Neither man appeared willing to back down

Manchester City dominated possession throughout the match, while Palace defended resiliently, reminiscent of Spartans, and looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

The match saw a moment of controversy when Henderson handled the ball outside his penalty box. He narrowly avoided a red card thanks to a VAR review.

Shortly after this incident, he successfully saved a penalty taken by Omar Marmoush.

Henderson also drew attention during the second half by wearing a baseball cap, seemingly to shield his eyes from the sun, much to the amusement of commentator John Murray.

Celebrations for Crystal Palace properly kicked off after Oliver Glasner`s side successfully navigated through ten minutes of intense pressure from City during added time.

However, cameras quickly focused on Guardiola as he engaged in a war of words with the jubilant Henderson.

Neither man seemed willing to back down, with Guardiola appearing visibly frustrated as Henderson celebrated enthusiastically, pumping his arms.

The Crystal Palace goalkeeper was eventually led away and went on to embrace his manager, Oliver Glasner.

Despite this, Guardiola wasn`t finished, and he was seen pointing a finger at Henderson before finally leaving the pitch.

Speaking later, Henderson shed light on the confrontation, explaining that Guardiola was apparently angered by what he perceived as time-wasting tactics from the Palace team.

Henderson commented: “I just went to shake his hand, and I believe he was unhappy about the time-wasting. I told him, `You got the 10 minutes [of added time] you wanted`, so there are no hard feelings…”

Fans were quick to react to the incident on social media platforms.

One fan commented: “Haha Hendo, what a guy.”

Another person remarked: “Pep, classy as ever in defeat.”

A user noted: “Not a good look for City.”

Another added: “Spent £200m in January and still won nothing.”
