Czech professional tennis player Katerina Siniakova is celebrating her 29th birthday today.

Born on May 10, 1996, in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, Katerina comes from a sports-oriented family. Her father, Dmitry, is a former professional boxer with Russian citizenship, while her mother, Hana, is a Czech accountant. She also has a younger brother named Daniel.

Katerina began playing tennis at the age of five and turned professional in 2012. She made her Grand Slam debut in 2014 at the Australian Open, successfully navigating the qualification rounds to reach the main draw.

In singles, Siniakova`s best performance at a major tournament was reaching the fourth round (round of 16) of the French Open in 2019. Throughout her career, she has won 32 WTA titles, including two in singles and a remarkable 30 in doubles, earning a total of $13,376,794 in prize money.

Siniakova is widely recognized as one of the top doubles players of her generation, having completed a Career Grand Slam in the discipline. Her major doubles victories include the Australian Open (2022, 2023, 2025), French Open (Roland Garros) (2018, 2021, 2024), Wimbledon (2018, 2022, 2024), and the US Open (2022). In 2021, she partnered with Barbora Krejcikova to win both the WTA Finals and an Olympic gold medal. Siniakova is currently ranked world number one in doubles. Last year, she added a second Olympic gold to her collection, winning the mixed doubles event with Tomas Machac.

She was also a member of the victorious Czech Republic team that won the Fed Cup title in 2018.

In singles, Siniakova reached her career-high ranking of World No. 27 in June 2024. She is currently ranked World No. 62 in the global classification.

Katerina prefers playing on hard courts. Her tennis idol is Maria Sharapova. In her free time, she enjoys reading detective and science fiction books, listening to music, and spending time with friends.
