Harriet Dart Complains About Opponent’s Odor at Rouen Tournament

Sport news

World No. 110 British tennis player Harriet Dart made an unusual request to the chair umpire during her first-round match at the WTA 250 clay-court tournament in Rouen, France.

In the opening match, Dart faced 21-year-old French player Lois Boisson, ranked 303rd in the world, who entered the tournament as a wild card.

During a changeover in the second set, while trailing 0-6, 3-4, Dart addressed the umpire, saying: “Could you please ask her to use deodorant? She smells really bad.” The umpire did not intervene.

Dart lost the match to Boisson with a score of 0-6, 3-6. Boisson will proceed to compete against the winner of the match between Moyuka Uchijima of Japan and Kamilla Rakhimova of Russia.
