Veteran boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has given UFC President Dana White a word of caution as White ventures into boxing promotion.
After years of hinting at it with Zuffa Boxing, Dana White recently announced the launch of TKO Boxing, his new boxing promotion, aiming to operate it similarly to the UFC.
However, some boxing figures have already voiced skepticism about White`s plans, setting a challenging stage for him and his partner, Turki Alalshikh.
Hearn`s Advice to Dana White: Expect a Constant Battle
Dana White has been openly critical of boxing and its personalities for years. Following UFC 313, he acknowledged the need to repair relationships within the boxing world.
Interestingly, Eddie Hearn, a significant boxing promoter, maintains a positive relationship with White. They have often spoken highly of each other`s impact on their respective sports.
Despite this, in light of the TKO Boxing announcement and Alalshikh`s ambitious goal to “crush” other boxing promotions, Hearn advised White to be prepared for a relentless and demanding business.
“Boxing is an incredibly tough business,” Hearn stated in an interview with iFL TV.
“I hope they are ready to dedicate themselves fully, day and night. In boxing, you can`t expect to relax and find everything unchanged the next day. “
“It’s a constant hustle. And I’m right there in the thick of it,” he added.
White`s Expanding Combat Sports Empire
Despite Hearn’s warning, Dana White has a proven track record of building the UFC into a dominant force in MMA.
Furthermore, White has boldly claimed that his Power Slap league will eventually become even more popular and successful than the UFC.
With TKO Boxing adding to his responsibilities, White addressed how he plans to manage his growing portfolio of ventures.
“I thought I was busy before, but the last few weeks have shown me a new level of busy,” White admitted at the UFC 313 post-fight press conference.
“We’ll see this year how well I can handle it all. This year will be the test to see how long I can keep this pace,” he concluded.
