“I Think I Have a Good Chance to Win,” Says Coco Gauff on Facing Iga Świątek

Sport news

World No. 4 American Coco Gauff shared her thoughts on the upcoming WTA 1000 Madrid Open semifinal where she is set to compete against World No. 2 Iga Świątek of Poland.

At a press conference, Gauff commented on the challenge: “Obviously, Iga is strong on clay, and on other surfaces too, but especially on clay. Our last two matches were on hard court, so I will approach this new encounter differently, as a different match. But I hope that I can play great tennis, just like I did in the quarterfinals.”

She expressed confidence in her chances: “I think I have a good chance to win. In general, I am getting better and better with each match. I look forward to this upcoming match; I`ll be happy to compete against one of the best in the world.”
