The 28-year-old Topuria announced his transition to the 155lb division in February, citing exhaustion from the demanding weight cuts required for 145lbs.

Over the recent months, the Georgian-born fighter representing Spain has visibly developed a more muscular physique.

He showcased incredible physical condition as he successfully made weight at the official weigh-ins held at the UFC Apex earlier today.

`El Matador` appeared sharp and formidable, hitting the 155lb championship limit for the lightweight division for the first time.

Topuria had to cut over 14 pounds (a stone) to meet the featherweight title limit, and this strenuous process significantly contributed to his decision to vacate the championship belt he claimed last February.

Speaking to ESPN Deportes, he described his state during weight cuts: “In that moment [when cutting weight], I feel so drained.”

He added, “I feel terrible… I didn’t want to suffer anymore…”

“It`s like living in the desert, and I wanted to live on the beach.”

Standing between Topuria and potentially winning a second UFC title is the former lightweight champion and fan favorite, Charles Oliveira.

While expressing great respect for `Do Bronx`, Topuria stated his intention to achieve a knockout victory to realize his ambition of becoming a two-division champion.

He commented, “Charles is a great fighter.”

“I`d say he`s a legendary fighter, one of the few still active in the UFC.”

“But the truth is that his style perfectly suits mine for finishing him [putting him to sleep] in the first round.”

“Because he has no mobility, he doesn`t move much.”
