Island Boys Star Kodiyakredd Quits in Fight with Charleston White

Boxing news

Island Boys member Kodiyakredd now holds a 0-3 record in his fighting career following a defeat by the controversial influencer Charleston White in his most recent bout.

The 23-year-old rapper, known as Kodiyakredd (real name Franky Venegas), is one half of the duo `Island Boys` alongside his brother FlyySoulja. He has been participating in boxing matches on Adin Ross`s live-streamed monthly show, Brand Risk Promotions, having lost his two previous fights prior to the recent event in Nashville.

His poor performance in the ring continued last night. He struggled through two rounds against the 48-year-old White before ultimately quitting. Afterward, he attributed `gassing out` to having smoked beforehand.

Charleston White Vows to Fight Again Despite Health Concerns

On Sunday night, Adin Ross hosted his Brand Risk Promotions show outside its usual location for the first time, holding the event in Nashville, Tennessee. The show is typically held at his Miami warehouse, but main event participant Charleston White could not be sanctioned to fight in Florida, reportedly due to having only one functional eye.

The 48-year-old White had sought a fight for years and finally stepped into the ring on Sunday against Kodiyakredd of the Island Boys. The rapper`s record was 0-2 coming into the bout, having lost a match against his brother the previous month and being stopped in his debut bout, which was reportedly watched by Dana White.

Kodiyakredd initially seemed to have an advantage due to his youth and prior ring experience in a fight marked by illegal actions and poor technique from both participants. However, after slipping and falling in the second round, both fighters significantly slowed down, becoming almost stationary.

Following a combination thrown by Kodiyakredd, White landed the most significant punch of the match, visibly affecting his opponent. After taking the hit, Kodiyakredd moved to a corner, signaling to the referee that he was quitting the fight midway through the second round.

Post-fight, White was lifted by his team, which included Milton Lacroix, former coach of Shannon Briggs and Logan Paul. White stated he intends to fight again, despite his age and reported health issues.

When asked about his condition after the fight, he responded, “Like a young [censored] with a new body, yeah. I`m a [censored], this is a contact sport and I ain`t with taking punches and giving punches, I call the police on mother[censored] who throw punches.”

When questioned about critics who doubted he would ever actually compete, he replied, “Sign up for the next fight.”

Kodiyakredd then gave his perspective on the disappointing performance, stating, “It was a good fight, I feel like I hit too much nicotine, I smoked too much weed and I gassed out.”
