Jake Paul: Floyd Mayweather Dodged Our Fight Offer

Boxing news

Jake Paul and his manager have accused Floyd Mayweather of ignoring their fight offer. This accusation comes just days after Mayweather claimed he had sent them 10 to 20 offers.

The history between Floyd Mayweather and the Paul brothers goes back to Mayweather`s exhibition fight with Logan Paul in 2021. Now, years later, Jake Paul and Mayweather are in a dispute over a potential boxing match.

Both Paul and Mayweather are known for being controversial figures in the boxing world. After a tense confrontation between Paul and Mayweather before the Logan Paul fight, many thought a fight between them was inevitable.

Mayweather has consistently downplayed the idea of fighting Paul, calling it an ‘easy fight’. Mayweather, who retired with a 50-0 record in professional boxing in 2017, has since participated in exhibition matches.

However, after Paul accused Mayweather of avoiding a fight, the Hall of Fame boxer felt the need to respond.

Jake Paul`s Team Responds to Mayweather`s Claim of `10 Offers`

In a recent interview, Mayweather addressed Paul`s accusations of ducking him.

“We offered Jake Paul the fight probably 10 or 20 times, and he turned us down,” Mayweather stated.

Paul and his team quickly responded, denying Mayweather’s version of events and stating that they were not the ones who rejected a fight.

Nakisa Bidarian, Paul’s manager, responded to Mayweather’s claims in an Instagram comment.

“No way he said that!” Bidarian commented. “They have never sent us a contract or offer. We sent Floyd an offer a while ago, and we received no response.”

Jake Paul is currently seeking an opponent for his next fight after negotiations for a match against Canelo Alvarez broke down. Mayweather’s last fight was an exhibition against John Gotti III last year.

Paul`s last appearance in the ring was a victory by unanimous decision over Mike Tyson last year. He has since recovered from his first professional loss to Tommy Fury in 2023, achieving five consecutive wins, including recent victories over former UFC star Nate Diaz and Bare Knuckle FC fighter Mike Perry.

Paul is also considering an MMA debut in 2025 with the PFL, although the timing is uncertain due to his ongoing boxing fight negotiations. A rematch with Tommy Fury is a possible option for his next fight.

Logan Paul has not boxed since his disqualification win over Dillon Danis in 2023 and aims to return to the boxing ring later this year.
