Miami Masters champion, Jakub Mensik, admitted he was close to withdrawing from the tournament right at the beginning.
“An hour before my first match in Miami, I was there with the paperwork, ready to pull out of the tournament. My knee was incredibly painful. Fortunately, the head referee went for lunch,” Mensik recounted.
“I went to see the physio, and he performed a miracle. Thanks to him, I managed to get on the court, and now I am standing here,” Mensik stated at the award ceremony following his victory.
