World No. 23 Jakub Mensik commented on his convincing 6/1, 6/4 victory over Ben Shelton in the third round of the Madrid Masters.
Asked about facing an opponent with a powerful serve similar to his own, Mensik was questioned on his strategy.
“Honestly, I don`t know,” Mensik replied. “Today I was returning very well. Although Ben can certainly serve even better. At this altitude, and on the fastest clay court, returning his serve was not easy. I knew he wasn`t in his best form, and neither was I, but I still tried to give my maximum. I`m happy I could win. We`ll see what happens in the next match,” he added in his on-court interview.
