Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has been named the 2024 Athlete of the Year in South Tyrol, the Italian province where he was born.

The award ceremony took place at the Sporthlife Gala 2025.

In 2024, Sinner won the Australian Open and the US Open. He also triumphed at the ATP Finals and the Masters tournaments in Cincinnati and Shanghai.

Currently, the world number one is serving a three-month suspension for violating anti-doping rules in the spring of 2024. He is set to return to the tour in May, participating in the clay-court Masters tournament in Rome.
