Italian World No. 5 Jasmine Paolini discussed her triumph at the WTA 1000 tournament held in Rome. In the championship match, she secured a victory over American competitor Coco Gauff with a final score of 6-4, 6-2.
Paolini shared that her primary focus remained entirely on the game itself throughout the decisive match.
“I tried to focus on the match,” Paolini commented following her win. “I kept repeating to myself that it absolutely didn`t matter what was happening around me, I just told myself I had to play every single ball. And that`s what I did for the entire match. I believe it was my best performance of the tournament.”
This significant win marks Paolini`s third singles title of her career and her first title captured during the current season.
