Joe Rogan Reacts with Disbelief to KSI Canceling Dillon Danis Fight

Boxing news

Joe Rogan expressed his confusion over KSI`s withdrawal from his scheduled fight against Dillon Danis, citing a questionable illness.

KSI, a popular YouTube personality and boxer, was set to face Dillon Danis, Conor McGregor`s teammate, on March 29th. However, the entire event, including the undercard fights, was postponed by KSI on Friday night. KSI has been active in boxing since 2018, while Danis is known for his jiu-jitsu skills and has only had one professional boxing match.

During a recent Fight Companion podcast for UFC London, Joe Rogan and his guests discussed the KSI vs. Danis situation in relation to Danis`s upcoming MMA fight with Tony Ferguson. Rogan seemed puzzled that KSI, supposedly the better boxer, would cancel the fight due to sickness.

Joe Rogan`s Thoughts on KSI vs. Dillon Danis Postponement

In a conversation with Brendan Schaub and Gordon Ryan, a well-known rival of Danis, Joe Rogan learned about KSI`s withdrawal due to illness. Initially, Rogan was surprised, pointing out that KSI is considered a much better boxer and should be able to win even if not at his peak condition.

“How can KSI pull out of a fight with Dillon Danis?” Rogan questioned. “Dillon is not a boxer, and KSI is a pretty skilled boxer for someone in his category. He seems legitimate to me – he has boxing skills.”

Rogan continued, “But Dillon is not a boxer, so it seems strange that KSI wouldn`t be able to fight even if he wasn`t at 100%.”

However, after watching KSI`s video announcement about his illness, where Brendan Schaub jokingly noted the breathing strip on KSI`s nose as proof of his sickness, Rogan seemed to change his opinion. Rogan then conceded, “Okay, he`s sick, it sounds like it could be real.”

Dillon Danis Mocks KSI for Fight Cancellation

Following KSI`s withdrawal, which Misfits Boxing insists is just a postponement, Dillon Danis has been actively trolling KSI on social media. Danis was previously mocked for backing out of their initially planned fight in January 2023, and he used this opportunity to get back at KSI.

When KSI claimed the fight was only postponed, Danis responded, “Olajide, you pulled out. You canceled the entire event. Only little league games get postponed, not major, expensive fight events.” Danis`s point is emphasized by the fact that he is still scheduled to fight UFC legend Tony Ferguson at the end of May.

Danis also suggested Logan Paul should step in to replace KSI for a rematch of their previous fight in 2023. “I feel sorry for every fighter on the card and the fans who bought tickets,” Danis wrote. “Logan Paul, step up for your boyfriend who`s pretending to be sick and let`s save the event, and everyone’s time and money.”
