Reports indicate that Jon Jones has established a six-month preparation strategy for his anticipated fight with interim UFC heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall.
The legendary fighter is seemingly approaching a significant unification match with the British contender, as agreements with the UFC have reportedly been made.

Jones, aged 37, reportedly sought a significant sum to defend his title against Aspinall. Despite initial doubts, Aspinall recently stated that an agreement is in place with Jones, and the UFC is now focused on scheduling the event.
However, according to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, fans may need to exercise patience before witnessing Jones and Aspinall in the octagon.
During a UFC 313 recap, Helwani mentioned that time is running out for a summer fight between Jones and Aspinall.
Helwani explained that he was informed Jones requires six months for fight preparation once it`s officially confirmed.
This timeline suggests a potential fight date around September.
Nevertheless, Helwani speculated that Jones might agree to a shorter preparation period if financially incentivized by the UFC.
Helwani added that while money could be a motivator, a summer fight seems increasingly unlikely.

Sources indicate that the UFC aims to organize the Jones vs Aspinall fight before autumn.
UFC 317, scheduled for June 28 in Las Vegas, is reportedly being considered by Dana White and UFC leadership.
Veteran promoter Dana White confirmed plans for Aspinall to fight Jones this summer on The Jim Rome Show, stating that the specifics are being worked out and his aim is to finalize the Aspinall fight this year.
Jones` last fight was at UFC 309 last November, where he defended his undisputed title with a knockout victory over Stipe Miocic.
Aspinall`s last appearance was in July at UFC 304 in Manchester, where he achieved a quick victory against Curtis Blaydes.
