Today, Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov celebrates his 29th birthday. We join the many well-wishers congratulating Karen and wishing him success both on and off the court.

Karen Khachanov was born in Moscow on May 21, 1996. His father, Abgar, played volleyball at a high level before pursuing a career in medicine, and his mother, Natalia, also studied medicine. Karen has a sister, Margarita, and a brother, Georgiy. He started playing tennis at the age of three.

Karen turned professional in 2013. Throughout his career, he has won six ATP singles titles and one doubles title, accumulating $16,296,982 in prize money.

His best performance at Grand Slam tournaments has been reaching the semifinals of the US Open in 2022 and the Australian Open in 2023. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Karen won a silver medal in singles, losing to Germany`s Alexander Zverev in the final. He was also part of the Russian team that won the Davis Cup in 2021.

In July 2019, Khachanov reached his career-high ATP ranking of World No. 8.

In 2016, Khachanov married Veronika Shklyayeva. Their first child, David, was born in September 2019, followed by their second son, Mikael, in July 2023.

Currently, Khachanov is ranked World No. 24.
