According to reports, former England coach Lee Carsley is reportedly among the candidates being considered to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy as manager at Leicester City.
The club`s demotion to the Championship division was confirmed on Sunday after a season marked by disappointing results.
Van Nistelrooy, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal when he took over from Steve Cooper in November, has not been able to improve the team`s performance or results.
Sky Sports suggests that Van Nistelrooy is “likely” to leave Leicester at the end of the current season, prompting the club to compile a list of potential successors.
Carsley`s name is on this shortlist. He is the current manager of the England Under-21 national team and is highly regarded for his work within the national setup.

Russell Martin is another possible candidate for the Leicester managerial position. He was sacked by Southampton in December, just seven months after successfully guiding them to promotion to the Premier League.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is also reportedly on Leicester`s list of potential candidates.
The German coach has impressed during his two seasons managing at Hillsborough, successfully keeping them in the division last term and achieving a mid-table finish this campaign.
Van Nistelrooy is expected to hold meetings with the club`s hierarchy (King Power chiefs) this week to discuss his future role.

Reports indicate that Van Nistelrooy is unwilling to step down from his position unless he receives compensation.
Furthermore, it is suggested that Leicester may face difficulties in sacking him immediately due to potential implications for their Profit and Sustainability compliance in the current financial year.
