Lois Boisson: Match Preparation Doesn’t Depend on Opponent’s Ranking

Sport news

French tennis player Lois Boisson, ranked 361st in the world, shared her approach to preparing for matches against strong opponents. She is soon set to face Coco Gauff in a home tournament semifinal.

– At the end of the match against Andreeva, you fell onto the court. Throughout the entire match, you appeared very composed. Was the fall a manifestation of the overwhelming emotions after the victory?

– Not entirely. I don`t always fall after a match. It`s just that throughout the entire game, I felt a lot of tension and tried to control it. At the end, I needed to release those feelings.

– How do you prepare for matches against players you`ve previously only seen on TV?

– My match preparation pretty much stays the same, regardless of whether I`m playing a player ranked in the 300s or someone in the top 10. My approach to each match is identical: we analyze the opponent`s game, and then on the court, I simply try to execute the game plan,” Boisson explained at the press conference.
