Man Utd Fans Accuse VAR of Offside Line Error on Disallowed Maguire Goal

Football news

Manchester United supporters are convinced that the VAR system incorrectly drew the offside lines when Harry Maguire`s goal against Chelsea was ruled out.

The England international thought he had put the Red Devils ahead in the 16th minute during their trip to Chelsea, scoring with a well-taken right-footed finish from inside the penalty area.

But the goal was ruled out for the most marginal of offsides, much to the annoyance of Red Devils fans

However, the goal was disallowed after VAR review deemed a small part of his right knee and foot to be marginally offside.

The club`s faithful weren`t pleased when they saw the graphic illustrating the offside call and voiced their frustrations on social media platform X.

One supporter wrote: “Why didn`t they use Cucurella. VAR at it again?”

Another comment read: “Wait, they drew the line on the wrong person!!!! Cucurella was the last man. But it still looked off sha, but still!!!”

A third fan stated: “Premier League, that`s fraud. Cucurella kept him onside.”

Someone else remarked on the perceived unfairness: “That’s not even offside! So f***ing rigged. The animation showed the defender closest to Maguire. Yet it was the defender on the far side who had his arm wide out, playing Maguire onside!! They didn’t show that!”

Further frustration was shown by a comment saying: “That is not even offside ref.”

Had the goal stood, it would have been Maguire`s fifth goal of what has been a mixed season for Manchester United.

His fourth goal of the campaign came in the Red Devils` thrilling Europa League quarter-final second leg match against Lyon.
