The draw places them 13th in the league table, just above Tottenham.

Manchester United is also close to Brentford, who are 12th, and further away from the top half of the table.

Their hopes for European competition now likely depend on their performance in the Europa League.

Let`s see who performed well at Old Trafford.

Here are the Man United player ratings:

ANDRE ONANA – 5

Onana had a calmer game compared to some previous performances. He made a good save from a Casemiro header that was heading towards his own goal from a corner.

His shot-stopping was solid, even though City`s attack wasn`t very strong without Erling Haaland. However, one save from Omar Marmoush seemed a bit unnecessary.

NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI – 6

Mazraoui was reliable and adaptable as a right-sided defender, making a crucial tackle to stop Phil Foden. He mostly focused on defending against Omar Marmoush and did a decent job. While he`s better known for his wing-back abilities with pace and attacking intelligence, he didn`t get to show those in this match.

HARRY MAGUIRE – 5

Maguire can appear slow at times but is strong in tackles, like his early stop against Omar Marmoush. His passing from the back can be inconsistent. He was substituted for Victor Lindelof early in the second half, possibly due to a minor injury, with the Europa League game against Lyon in mind.

LENY YORO – 6

Yoro, the young signing from Lille, is starting to show his potential after adjusting to the Premier League. Despite being only 19, he`s improving quickly in a more demanding league than Ligue 1. Manager Ruben Amorim likely sees him as a key part of the defense alongside Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt in the future.

DIOGO DALOT – 6

Dalot is adapting well to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system. He faced a challenge from the young Nico O’Reilly initially but used his experience to gain control. Dalot positioned himself aggressively when United had possession and his crosses from the right wing caused problems for City`s defense.

CASEMIRO – 4

Casemiro, at 33, occasionally looked slow during the game. His passes from deep positions were inaccurate and put teammates under pressure. His partnership with Manuel Ugarte in midfield was ineffective. It`s likely he may leave Old Trafford, especially from the starting lineup, next season, despite having two years left on his contract.

MANUEL UGARTE – 4

Ugarte, a signing from Paris Saint-Germain, is still adjusting. The Uruguayan often lacked the speed needed for the quick transitions demanded by the manager for the central midfielders. Even in a derby game that lacked intensity, he struggled to make a significant impact.

PATRICK DORGU – 5

Dorgu hasn`t been very impressive since joining from Lecce and has much to learn. The wing-back provides physicality on the left side, but needs to improve his composure when shooting during attacking overlaps. One shot in the first half was particularly poor. He needs to improve his overall performance.

BRUNO FERNANDES – 8

Manchester United’s captain, Fernandes, was named Premier League Player of the Month for April – and he showed why. In a team that struggled to create, Fernandes was always trying to make something happen. He was full of energy, clever passes, and constant running. Even when playing out of position on the right wing, he was effective. Fernandes is clearly vital to United’s team.
