Manchester United is facing a significant financial blow following the unveiling of their new training kit for the 2025/2026 season.
The club recently announced the attire, which noticeably lacks a sponsor logo. This absence was quickly spotted by fans, with many calling the situation “embarrassing”.
It`s common practice for football clubs to secure separate sponsors for their matchday kits and their training apparel. However, United`s previous partnership with blockchain company Tezos, valued at around £24 million per year for sponsoring the training kit, concluded on June 30.

Consequently, the struggling Premier League club launched their new plum-colored training gear without any sponsor branding. This means United is currently missing out on a substantial annual revenue stream.
Fans were quick to voice their disappointment online. Comments included one user writing, “Not surprising. There`s not many want to be associated with us,” while another simply stated, “Shambolic.”

While sources initially suggested that a new training kit sponsor would be agreed upon shortly after the Tezos deal expired, reports indicate there are currently no immediate agreements in place.
The Tezos-branded training kit had been worn by both United`s men`s first-team squad and the women`s team for the past three years.
Securing a new sponsor for the training kit is crucial for Manchester United, particularly as the club reportedly faces financial constraints. The loss of £24 million a year from this partnership represents a significant blow to their finances.
The club shared photos of players showcasing the new unsponsored gear, including images of Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and new signing Leny Yoro. Notably, Alejandro Garnacho, who has been linked with a potential move away from the club and reportedly placed on the transfer list, also featured in the promotional material.
This situation contrasts with recent arrivals, such as Matheus Cunha last month, who was pictured in a Tezos-sponsored hoodie during his unveiling after signing from Wolves. Now, any future new signings will likely be photographed in the plain training attire until a new sponsor is found.
The expiration of the Tezos training kit sponsorship follows other partnership changes for the club, including Marriott International not extending its 2019 sponsorship deal. However, Snapdragon continues to be the sponsor for the main matchday kits under a separate five-year agreement reportedly valued at £300 million.
Ruben Amorim`s side is scheduled to begin their Premier League season on August 17 with a home match against Arsenal.
