Mark Petchey, who coaches Emma Raducanu, shared his thoughts on Jannik Sinner`s defeat against Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final, which went to five sets.
Petchey commented: “In my opinion, many people felt his three months out of the game was not a strict enough punishment. But now, he has paid the price.
He hasn`t been able to have many big matches in the last few months, and, in my view, the emotional strain – even though he fought hard and came back into the match – was a deciding factor against an opponent like Carlos Alcaraz. I think he still paid a significant price by not adding another Grand Slam title to his record,” Petchey said during an appearance on TNT Sports.
