Newcastle United`s recent Carabao Cup triumph has ignited discussions about constructing a significantly larger stadium.
The club`s Saudi Arabian ownership is keen on developing a 70,000-seat arena in close proximity to their current home, St James` Park.

An estimated 300,000 fans filled the streets to celebrate the victory against Liverpool at Wembley.
This massive turnout has refocused attention on plans to move from St James` Park, with potential costs reaching up to £3 billion.
Leazes Park, capable of accommodating 65,000 fans and featuring a `Wembley Way` style approach, is considered a leading option.
However, sources suggest that club executives ideally prefer a site that can host an even larger number of supporters.
Last month, Newcastle United held an internal presentation concerning these stadium plans.
It is understood that there is considerable flexibility in the alternative proposals being evaluated.
Before their Carabao Cup win against Liverpool (2-1 on March 16th), Newcastle had not won a major domestic trophy since 1955.
Currently, Newcastle is performing strongly in the Premier League, holding fifth place, only one point behind Manchester City and with a game in hand.

This strong league position enhances the possibility of Champions League qualification next season.
Consequently, there are even stronger motivations to develop plans for a new, impressive home stadium.
St James` Park, Newcastle`s home since 1892, currently holds 52,000.
But the club`s ambitious leadership is determined to build a larger stadium.
The Telegraph reports that the final design for a stadium upgrade is still pending due to various factors.
This includes the extensive range of options that are still under consideration.
Redeveloping St James` Park itself remains a possible option.
