Oli McBurnie has surprised fans by speaking fluent Spanish, just months after his transfer to Las Palmas.
The former Sheffield United player moved from the Premier League last summer to join the La Liga team.

McBurnie, a Scottish international who grew up in Leeds, has made considerable effort to integrate since his move.
He demonstrated his Spanish skills in a TV interview after a 3-1 victory over Getafe on Saturday.
Following his goal, McBurnie conducted the entire interview in Spanish, impressing the interviewer.
The 28-year-old stated: “It`s a very good day for us. We know we need more wins and points.
“It`s a great day for us, now we need more.
“I want more goals. This year is difficult for me. I want to help the team.”
Fans quickly praised McBurnie for his dedication to learning the language.
One surprised fan commented on X: “No way is that him talking?!”
Another added: “This is so impressive from @oli_mcburnie, he`s integrated so well into life in Spain both on and off the pitch.”
A third person wrote: “Great to see him doing well and proving doubters wrong.”
McBurnie started his career at Bradford City before a successful year at Swansea in 2018.
The striker scored 22 goals in 42 Championship matches, leading to a £20m transfer to Premier League side Sheffield United.

Q: Ollie, speaking in Spanish with us… finally this victory.
McBurnie: It`s a very good day for us. We know we need more wins and points. It`s a great day for us, now we need more.
Q: Today, a goal and a win. You said the other day you were sad because your goal counted for nothing.
McBurnie: Yes, definitely. I want more goals. This year is difficult for me. I want to help the team, but today is good with goals for me and Fabio (Silva). We won and it`s all incredible, and today is for the fans.
Q: And above all it`s a win that helps everyone keep believing?
McBurnie: Definitely. We know we need more wins. Today is only one game and only three points. It`s good, but now more and tomorrow more work. We want more wins, more points, come on!
Q: Ollie, congratulations for the win, and the Spanish.
McBurnie: Thanks a lot, I`m trying!
McBurnie did not fully live up to his transfer fee in Sheffield, scoring 29 goals in 159 appearances.
He joined Las Palmas in the Canary Islands last summer, signing a three-year contract.
McBurnie experienced an 11-game goal drought at the beginning of 2025.
However, he now has scored in two consecutive games after his goal against Getafe.
