Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini, ranked world No. 5, reached out to American Coco Gauff with words of support after their final match at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. In this final, Paolini claimed victory over Gauff with a score of 6/4, 6/2.
During the awards ceremony, Paolini warmly congratulated Gauff, stating: “I congratulate you on an amazing week, and also on the previous one. You reached the final, you are playing simply wonderfully! Keep it up. You are a very good person and a wonderful player.”
This victory marked Paolini`s first title of the current season. Furthermore, she has a chance to win in the doubles competition at the Rome tournament as well. In the doubles final, Jasmine Paolini and her partner Sara Errani from Italy will face the duo of Veronika Kudermetova (Russia) and Elise Mertens (Belgium).
